24th March 26
We are absolutely delighted and incredibly proud to announce that acclaimed actors, writers and directors Sue Jenkins and David Fleeshman have officially been appointed as Patrons of the Arts for Sale and Altrincham Musical Theatre. This is a very special moment for all of us at SAMT as we continue to celebrate our proud heritage, champion local talent and look ahead to an exciting future as one of the region’s most respected and longstanding theatre organisations. Sue and David are both hugely admired figures within the entertainment industry, with distinguished careers spanning television, theatre and film. To have their support is a tremendous honour for our society and a reflection of our continued commitment to artistic excellence, community engagement, and the nurturing of performers of all ages. Since 1936, SAMT has been a cornerstone of the local arts scene, bringing high-quality musical theatre and dramatic productions to audiences across Trafford and beyond. The appointment of Sue Jenkins and David Fleeshman as Patrons of the Arts further strengthens our connection to the wider creative community and reinforces our dedication to inspiring the next generation of theatre-makers and performers. Owen Henshall, Chair of the society, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Sue Jenkins and David Fleeshman as Patrons of the Arts for SAMT. Both are celebrated and hugely respected figures in the industry, and to have their support means a great deal to us as an organisation. Their involvement is not only a wonderful endorsement of the work we do, but also a huge inspiration to our members, audiences and young performers as we continue to grow and celebrate the arts in our community.” We feel incredibly honoured to have the backing of two such esteemed artists, whose passion for performance and commitment to the arts aligns so strongly with the values and vision of our organisation. As we continue our exciting 90th Anniversary celebrations and look ahead to future productions, we are so looking forward to working closely with Sue and David in their new roles, and to building on SAMT’s proud legacy of creativity, opportunity and community spirit.
